Assembly to Host Armenian Wine Dinner in Los Angeles to Highlight Importance of Advocacy For Armenia's Economic Growth

Los Angeles, CA - The Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) invites you to a special Armenian Wine Dinner on Thursday, October 24, 2024, featuring Maran Winery and Yacoubian-Hobbs Winery at the acclaimed Momed Modern Mediterranean Restaurant in Los Angeles, California. 


Attendees will meet Armenia-based wine producers Tigran Harutyunyan from Maran Winery, and Viken Yacoubian of Yacoubian-Hobbs Winery, and experience a selection of wines paired with a gourmet four-course curated menu by Chef Vartan Abgaryan and Sommelier Anush Gharibyan O'Connor.  


Maran Winery continues a more than 200-year history of winemaking in Armenia, while diasporan Armenian brothers Vicken and Vahe Yacoubian have partnered with renowned wine producer Paul Hobbs since 2008. The wineries offer a complimentary story of producers from Armenia and the diaspora contributing to the growth of Armenia’s wine industry and economy. 


This unique food and wine pairing evening features the opportunity to connect with these wine producers and fellow attendees during an exclusive dinner and program. Participants will learn about Armenia’s growing wine industry and how collective advocacy efforts can foster the betterment of Armenia’s economy and strengthen its independence. Additionally, guests will enjoy a menu featuring Armenian and Mediterranean-inspired foods paired with Maran and Yacoubian-Hobbs wines. Guests will also hear from Armenian Sommelier Anush Gharibyan O'Connor, co-founder of GiniFest, Paul Kalemkiarian, Assembly intern alum and host of Wine Talks with Paul K, Bryan Ardouny, Executive Director of the Assembly, and learn about the important work of advocacy, building connections, and supporting the economic independence of fellow Armenians. 


"We are thrilled to feature these wineries, which tell a story of wine producing and contributing to Armenia’s economy from the perspective of a local family in Armenia and a diasporan who has invested in Armenia," said Assembly Western Region Director David Ojakian. "This will be a special evening to come together around food, wine, and our shared passion for Armenia's prosperity."
