On March 2, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning
Jonathan Parish.
Foreign Minister Nalbandian shared with Parish the achievements as a result of continuous cooperation between Armenia and NATO. While expressing his gratitude, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General mentioned that relations between Armenia and the North Atlantic Alliance are are a high priority, especially with the implementation of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan 2014-2016 (IPAP).
During the meeting, both sides reflected on the Armenia-NATO political dialogue, Armenia’s effective participation in international peacekeeping operations, and possible reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces. Together, they began to prepare for the NATO 28+Armenia session to be held next week at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
Concluding their meeting, Foreign Minister Nalbandian presented Armenia’s efforts alongside the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, stressing the necessity to support the mediators’ mission.
