On October 10, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) Board of Trustees in New York.
During the meeting, they discussed agenda items of pan-Armenian importance, activities of the Assembly, dynamically developing Armenian-American relations, and possibilities for their further strengthening, according to the President of Armenia’s press service.
Views were also exchanged on pressing international problems, challenges existing in the South Caucasus region, the current stage of the Nagorno Karabakh peace process, and the influx of refugees which emerged as a result of the ongoing military activities in Syria. President Sargsyan and Assembly Board Members spoke with each other about the assistance provided through the joint efforts of the Republic of Armenia and various Armenian structures to our compatriots in Syria as well as to the friendly people of Syria, who are suffering as a result of military actions.
President Sargsyan responded to the questions raised by the Assembly, presented the process and prospects of Armenia’s economic development, and discussed expectations from the new government of Armenia.
President Sargsyan is on a working visit to the United States to participate in the Armenia Investment Forum, which takes place October 10-11.
